The National Mall is perhaps the definition of the "beaten path" when it comes to places to visit in Washington DC, but I still enjoy going there to take pictures of the various buildings and monuments that line it. Since this area is photographed a lot, I try to use my visits there to explore different angles and compositions, as well as attempt to capture smaller details - plants, lampposts, and detail shots of buildings/monuments/statues.
